Injectible Fillers and Botox at our NYC office
Botox is a natural protein that relaxes facial muscles, resulting in a reduction of wrinkles. Patients commonly have injections in the forehead, crow's feet, between the eyebrows, and around the mouth and neck. Botox can also be used to treat facial asymmetry, migraines, excessive sweating, and psoriasis.
For deep wrinkle lines, Botox can be used in conjunction with fillers, first relaxing the muscle that is too tense and then filling in the crease.
With millions of treatments done each year, Botox is very safe, effective, minimally invasive, and requires little to no downtime. The results last about 4-6 months.
Most of the fillers used in reducing wrinkles and modifying contours are Hyaluronic Acid-Based Fillers. Dermal fillers are temporary with results lasting on average 6-12 months. They are affordable, safe, and minimally invasive, with little downtime. Many patients like Hyaluronic Acid-Based dermal fillers because they are not only temporary but also dissolvable, in case the patient wants to remove the filler.
Restylane is an FDA approved Hyaluronic Acid-Based injectable filler for wrinkles. Restylane can also add volume and hydration to the face and lips as well as smooth nasolabial folds. Restylane lasts about 6 months and is very popular.
Perlane is another type of injectable filler that we offer to correct deep wrinkles on the face, including nasolabial folds and sunken cheeks. Perlane is related to Restylane, but the hyaluronic acid gel particles are larger in this formulation than in Restylane.
Bellafill is an injectible collagen treatment with PMMA (polymethylmethacrylate) microspheres. It is approved for deep lines such as nasolabial folds as well as moderate to severe acne scarring on the cheeks for patients 21 and older. Bellafill has been established as effective for correcting nasolabial fold for 5 years.
The collagen in Bellafill immediately provides volume to pitted acne scars to help smooth the skin. Then, the PMMA microspheres remain in place and create a matrix to help your body create its own collagen for lasting improvements.
Bellafill is FDA approved for treating acne scars.
